Reed Cycle is located in an old house next to the big catalpa tree in historic downtown Eagle, Idaho. Owners Bill and Tami Reed opened Reed Cycle in 2000, after living in Winter Park, Colorado for eighteen years. Their enthusiasm for cycling shines through in the over thirty years of bicycle racing, managing and owning their own shop. The Velopark Grand Prix race #2 is on Saturday May 19, at the Eagle Bike Park. The 6 mile twisting, turning course which will include Junk Yard, will be fun for both racers and spectators alike. For more info visit: www.veloparkgrandprix.com.
The Cycle for Independence is also on Saturday May 19th, with three fun rides being offered: metric century, 25 miler or 10 mile ride. Music, food, door prizes, goody bags and bike socks are part of this fun event. Help the Treasure Valley Chapter National Federation of the Blind improve the education of blind children, provide information about blindness, seek better public transit and help seniors adjust to blindness. The Power of Ladies Professional Cycling… Exergy Tour -- May 24th-28th.
The Exergy Tour will soon be here as Idaho welcomes top women cyclists from around the world to compete at the highest level of ladies professional cycling, and will offer a last chance for teams to earn international ranking points critical in qualifying for the summer London Olympic Games.
You can be a part of this exciting action and history by volunteering and planning to be at one or all of the races, cheering on these world-class women athletes as they battle it out individually and as team players.
